The Second Chakra, The Dwelling Place of the Self

...The second chakra is associated with the warmth of the colour orange, the fruit orange, all sweet tasting foods and liquids. "Svadhisthana" is associated with the sense of taste, especially sweet things!

In yoga practice, all forward bends and backbends (seated, standing and reclined) and squatting postures (prayer squat) strengthen and balance the second chakra.

If you decide to work with the second chakra in your yoga practice, only do so under the supervision of a qualified yoga therapist who is familiar with chakra balancing work, this is a powerful chakra that can stir up the pot, so it is important to have guidance.
